- 1 (9-inch) piecrust
- 1 T. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. Carolina Pride™ Sausage
- 1/4 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded (about 1 cup)
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
Spread piecrust with butter or margarine. In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, cook pork sausage until well browned. With slotted spoon, remove to paper towels to drain. Sprinkle sausage and cheese on piecrust. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In medium bowl with fork, beat eggs and cream; pour into piecrust. Bake 15 minutes; turn oven to 300 degrees F. Bake 40 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sausage will stay at the bottom and leave custard layer on top.
